SAG stands for Stud Affetto Granta . This name originated when we bought Elgranta as a yearling and later started breeding with her. Because of her great character and beautiful exterior and the fact that she passed this on to her offspring (she was an elite mare herself and became preferent on her first three offspring), our preference (= affetto) for the Grantas arose

We breed jumping and dressage-oriented horses meant for the (top) sport with an appealing exterior and good movements from mare Lines that are among the best in the Netherlands and Germany such as the afore mentioned Granta line, the Leva line, the Sinaa line and the Holstein line 5819.

The first foal born with us was Gamble SAG, whose father is the Trakhener stallion Halewijn from Zimbly who had Odario (ZZ jumping and Z dressage) as father. This was a son of the Norman stallion Kodario. The dam of Odario is descended from the stallion Folio. The mother of Zimbly was Elsa, she descended from the stallion Amor. Three mares have emerged from Gamble, two of which (Sundance SAG and Uvendi SAG), have been sold to Sweden and have made good credit there in showjumping

We constantly try to improve the quality of the horses. The quality is determined by various factors. For example, the exterior, the movement mechanism and the jumping technique are very important, but the character, willingness to work and workability must also be good. The challenge is to breed a beautiful horse that enjoys his work and is also people-oriented. As an athlete you want the best sport horse, but as a breeder you also want to see a beautiful horse in your pasture. And so as a breeder you want to breed the best combination from these two wishes

The training of the horses is done in-house with us, taking care that the development of the horse determines the pace and that is different for each horse. To make the best use of a horse's talents, it is important that they can also relax and be ordinary horses and that is why the horses are as much as possible in the herd in the meadow where their own hierarchy is leading.

Working with horses is fantastic, each horse has its own and unique character and when you see that they sometimes move forward with leaps, it gives a huge kick. But just the mares that get a foal wil move you time and time again with their mother experience. Raising the foals in the herd is wonderful to see. And so a future image is created with every foal.
